Description:
This course offers a wide-ranging introduction to physics and its applications, covering classical mechanics, thermal physics and fluids, fields, waves and electromagnetism, relativity, quantum physics and the physics of solids. Multimedia materials and computing are used to provide stimulating and interactive teaching of key concepts and skills. An important goal is to improve access to physics for students from a variety of backgrounds, including those who have limited mathematical preparation, and to give an appreciation of the wide relevance of physical principles to the natural and technological worlds.
